Nina Tarr joined the MEF Board in 2021 after working as a MEF volunteer for several years while a student at Virginia Tech. She is currently the special assistant and executive officer to the president and CEO at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where she oversees operations within the Office of the President and supports special events. She graduated with honors from Virginia Tech with a BS in human development and a minor in political science. While a student at Virginia Tech, she led two Service without Borders service-learning trips to EEMPS, completed a two-month summer internship with the Engaruka Community Initiative Organization in Tanzania and completed another semester-long internship as the executive director trainee for MEF.
